Broadacres Learning Disability Service

Provides supported tenancies within our purpose-built properties in Northallerton.

We provide 1-1 support between the hours of 8am – 8pm and an out of hours service between 8pm and 8am seven days a week.

Our aim is to provide an individual service to you, working with other services our experienced and trained support workers will follow your personal plan of assessed needs.

We will visit at agreed times and provide agreed support to enable you to build on, learn new or maintain the existing skills you have.

The tenancy with support is for as long as you are assessed as needing it.

With regular multi agency reviews your support plan will change and in line with this so will the 1-1 support we provide.

Support will always include tenancy related support to ensure the basis of a good foundation for you to remain in your property for as long as you need it and want to, it can however also include support very much tailored to your emotional/mental health or social needs.

If you decide to move on to other accommodation we can support you to do that in a positive way.

Broadacres Learning Disabilities Outreach Service

Can offer support to you in one of our dispersed properties on a long-term basis.

We can support you to manage your tenancy in a very similar way to the supported tenancies but at a lower level if needed.

You would have planned visits and support from one of our experienced and trained support workers and they would also be on call within their working hours to respond in a crisis if you needed them.

This service is usually ideal for a person requiring a long term low level housing related support service.

You may already be in one of our tenancies but feel you need this support in the short term due to a life changing event or crisis this service can be an option for you too as it can be provided for a fixed period with fixed tasks depending on your need.

You may be entitled to help towards the cost of these services depending on the outcome of an individual financial assessment by North Yorkshire County Council.

Father of tenant –

My son has lived in Marshall House since it opened and  it is the only place he could live without his family, he couldn’t manage in other flats as he would be worried all the time and we would be worried for him.

Mother of tenant –

My son has lived in Tinsley House for a number of years, he gets help from the staff when he needs it and I know when I’m not around he will get this as I am his only immediate family and I’m not getting any younger.
