Following two successful years as Director of People, Digital and Communications Claire Townson is appointed as Broadacres’s new Chief Executive from 1st February. She brings to the role a wealth of experience, having previously served as the Corporate Services Director for the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust and in a range of senior HR roles. Claire is dedicated to the importance of social housing in sustaining rural communities and championing the voice of customers in all aspects of the services provided.

The appointment follows an open and extensive selection process and a period of interim leadership at Broadacres by Interim CEO, Lee Sugden, who will stand down when Claire takes up the position on 1st February. Helen commented “On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Lee Sugden for his good work with us and wish him the very best for the future.”

A Northallerton Scouts group is ready for new adventures after receiving £500 from Broadacres, helping fund new equipment and support more young people to get involved in outdoor activities.
Work has begun on a new community bike park in Richmond, North Yorkshire, after £250,000 was secured through grants, donations and local support.
