Young recruits taking part in North Yorkshire Police’s Mini Police scheme are looking the part thanks to new uniforms provided by Broadacres.
The Mini Police scheme gives primary school children the chance to learn more about policing, the work officers do in their communities and the values behind the role.
One of the latest groups to take part was from Thornton Watlass Primary School, where pupils completed 10 sessions covering everything from police roles and custody procedures to the phonetic alphabet and using police radios.
The children also had the chance to meet specialist members of the North Yorkshire Police team, including a Crime Scene Investigator and police dog Jax.
Broadacres provided uniforms for the children to wear during the sessions, which will also be available for future groups taking part in the scheme. The Community Safety Hub also supported the sessions by providing walkie-talkies for role-play activities.
North Yorkshire Police praised the pupils for their enthusiasm, teamwork and impressive radio skills following the programme.
