We’re pleased to welcome Tim Payne as the new Chair of Broadacres, succeeding Helen Simpson OBE following the completion of her six-year term.
Tim is already a familiar face at Broadacres, having served on our Board and most recently as our Senior Independent Director.
He brings extensive leadership experience to the role, alongside a strong understanding of Broadacres, our customers and the communities we serve. Outside Broadacres, Tim has held senior roles in the commercial sector and has also served as a trustee of Teesside Hospice.
Tim said:
“I’m honoured to have been appointed as Chair of Broadacres and looking forward to building on the legacy that Helen leaves behind.
“I’m delighted to continue working with the Board, Executive Team and colleagues as we face the opportunities and challenges of providing much-needed affordable homes across our market towns, and rural and coastal communities.”
Tim takes up the role at an important time for Broadacres as we continue to invest in our existing homes, provide new affordable homes and work with our customers to deliver. the services and support that matters to them.
His appointment also marks the end of Helen Simpson OBE’s six years as Chair, during which she has helped guide Broadacres through a period of significant change and investment.

Broadacres has provided new uniforms for North Yorkshire Police’s Mini Police scheme, helping young recruits learn more about policing and the role officers play in their communities.
A £500 grant from Broadacres has helped Northallerton Family Funday bring the community together for a day packed with activities, entertainment and family fun.
