As well as building new homes, each year we also invest a significant amount of money improving our existing homes.
In 2023/24, we are spending around £7 million on a range of work, which includes:
- 350 new kitchens
- 40 new bathrooms
- 151 new boilers
- 311 new windows
- 180 fence replacements
Recently, we held a celebration afternoon team at our Orchards extra care scheme in Brompton, near Northallerton, where we have installed over 30 new kitchens in our customers’ homes, working in partnership with our contractor Esh.
In addition to our planned maintenance programme, we have also allocated around £7 million for responsive repairs (repairs reported by our customers) and for carrying out work on empty properties before they are re-let to people.
And as part of our affordable warmth programme, we are also continuing to install energy efficient air source heat pumps in our properties. Over 700 properties are now using this form of renewable energy.
