Broadacres Children’s Christmas Card Design Competition 2025: Terms and Conditions

1. About the Competition

The Broadacres Children’s Christmas Card Design Competition 2025 invites children from our communities to create a festive design inspired by the theme “Home for Christmas.”

Winning designs may be featured on Broadacres’ Christmas cards, website, social media, or other festive communications materials shared with partners and the community.

Other selected designs may also appear across Broadacres’ digital and printed communications to celebrate local creativity and community spirit.

 

2. Who Can Enter

  • The competition is open to children aged 3-16 who live in a Broadacres household, or have a family connection to Broadacres Housing Association.
  • There are three age categories:
    • 3-6 years (Early Years & KS1)
    • 7-10 years (KS2)
    • 11-16 years (Secondary school)
  • Only one entry per child will be accepted.
  • There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter.

 

3. How to Enter

  • Children should design the front cover of a Christmas card on A4 paper folded in half (A5 when folded), either portrait or landscape.
  • Any materials can be used (crayons, pencils, paint, collage), provided the artwork os flat enough to scan or photograph.
  • On the inside right (back of the card), please include:
    • Child’s first name and age
    • Parent/guardian name and contact details (email preferably)
  • Entries can be submitted by:
  1. Email: Send a clear photo or scan to communications@broadacres.org.uk
  2. Drop-off: Hand in at any Broadacres office or community scheme reception (label it “Christmas Card Competition“)

Please note: we are unable to return physical entries.

 

4. Competition Dates

  • Opening date: Friday 8 November 2025
  • Closing date: 5pm, Sunday 24 November 2025
  • Entries received after this time will not be considered.

 

5. Prizes and Winners

  • One winner will be chosen from each age category.
  • Each winner will receive:
    • A certificate of achievement
    • A £25 prize (LEGO or voucher – age appropriate)
  • Winning and selected designs may be used across Broadacres’ printed or digital Christmas communications, including cards, social media, and website.
  • Additional entries that do not win may also be featured on Broadacres’ website, social channels, or other festive communications.
  • Winners will be contacted by email or phone by Thursday 4 December 2025.
  • The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

 

6. Judging

Entries will be judged by a panel of Broadacres representatives based on:

  • creativity and originality
  • Relevance to the theme “Home for Christmas”
  • Overall visual impact and presentation

 

7. Use of Artwork

By entering, parents/guardians grant Broadacres permission to:

  • Display, reproduce, and share their child’s design on Broadacres’ printed and digital channels, including website, social media, and festive publications.
  • Credit the child’s first name, age and town/village alongside their artwork.
  • Use the artwork for promotional or community purposed related to Broadacres’ Christmas campaigns.

Copyrights remains with the artist, but Broadacres retains permission to reproduce the artwork for non-commercial use.

 

8. Data Protection

  • Personal data will only be used for the administration of this competition.
  • Date will be handled securely and in line with Broadacres Housing Association’s Privacy Policy, available at www.broadacres.org.uk/privacy
  • Contact details will not be shared with third parties and will be deleted once the competition concludes.

 

9. General Conditions

  • Broadacres reserves the right to cancel, amend or withdraw the competition at any time.
  • Prizes are non-exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
  • By submitting an entry, all participants agree to these Terms and Conditions.
