Broadacres Money Advice Team

The Broadacres Money Advice Team advise and support customers who are facing financial challenges and the team have an extensive range of skills, experience and knowledge in the field of money advice. They can provide independent and confidential advice on budgeting, welfare benefits and financial products such as basic bank accounts and home contents insurance.

The service is free and confidential and available to all Broadacres customers.

 

Struggling to pay your rent

If you are unable to pay your rent, it is important that you contact us as soon as possible.

 

We have a dedicated team of Income Officers to help and advise you on what to do.

Home contents insurance

Broadacres have teamed up with Thistle Tenant Risks and Great Lakes Insurance UK Limited who provide the My Home Contents Insurance Scheme, a Tenants Contents Insurance policy designed for tenants living in social housing.

Universal Credit

Universal Credit payments are for people who are on a low income, out of work or cannot work. This money helps with living and housing costs and is paid once a month.

Our Money Advice Team can help you apply for Universal Credit and make sure you get the amount you are entitled to.

Pension Credit

Pension Credit is money to help with living and housing costs if you have a low income and are at or over the State Pension age. Pension Credit may also help you get other benefits like Housing Benefit, Council Tax discount and help with heating costs.

Our Money Advice Team can help you apply for Pension Credit.

Council Tax reduction

The working age council tax reduction scheme is an income-banded system based on your household size and weekly income. If you meet the criteria, you could get a percentage reduction, between 25% and 100% on your council tax.

If you are of pensionable age, the government has set rules that are used to calculate the amount of council tax reduction you will get.

Council tax reduction is available to single people, families, couples, working people, retired people, the unemployed and anyone on a low income.
