About the Kirkwood Hall scheme
At Kirkwood Hall, there are 7 two-bedroom bungalows, 14 studio apartments and 29 two-bedroom apartments for people who need some care and support to allow them to continue to live independently. In the scheme, there is a hairdressing salon, a craft/hobby room, assisted bathroom, lounge, restaurant, and a lovely secure garden with a greenhouse, potting shed. On the 1st floor there is a raised terrace for residents and visitors to enjoy the beautiful views outside.
The scheme has lots of communal space for residents to enjoy giving it a lovely spacious feel. There are areas that are for residents only and these areas are protected by electronic keypads so only residents and members of staff are able to enter.
The scheme also has 1 respite and 2 clinical studios which are regularly used by the local community to assist with recuperation enabling sooner discharge from hospital before returning home. They also provide an alternative, safe environment for people to be cared for instead of being taken into hospital when that is not required, keeping them local to family and friends.
