Football Tournament 2009
Football tournament achieves its goal
The first Broadacres football tournament
organised in conjunction with Hambleton District Council and Aareon
has proved to be a striking success.
A total of 10 teams, representing Broadacres,
HARCAS (Hambleton and Richmondshire Community Addiction Service),
Thirsk Clock, Stokesley Community Youth Team, Yorkshire Housing,
Foundation Housing and Netconstruct, competed in two groups of
6-a-side teams at Hambleton District Council’s Outdoor Floodlit
pitches on Saturday 28 February.
A hard fought final saw HARCAS emerge
victorious lifting the trophy after a very impressive series of
performances. The overall spirit of the tournament was summed up by
a comment made by one of the event referees. “The games were highly
competitive and although it was heated at times all the players and
teams deserve credit for the approach they took towards the
matches, the manner in which the games were played out and for the
spirit in which they entered into the competition”.
Simon Hunter, one of the event organiser’s
said “This event brought people together in a very positive way. It
promoted a sense of teamwork, fun and everyone played their part in
making the event both enjoyable and successful”.
Well done to HARCAS and thanks to all that
played a part in organising the event and to everyone that took
part.

The winning team, HARCAS.
