We are currently working with Local Authorities and other Housing Associations in North Yorkshire to introduce a new way of letting homes known as choice based lettings.

Under this system, vacant properties are advertised and those registered with the scheme can bid (show interest) for the homes. You would only need to register once to be able to bid for homes owned by a range of landlords in different areas. In the future mutual exchanges and homes for low cost sale can also be advertised.

Consultation on this new approach will be starting early September. We will contact everyone who is on our waiting list. If you are not on the waiting list but would like to give your views then you can register your interest by completing our online form (select "I want to register my interest in choice based lettings" from the drop down box). We will contact you when more details are available.

Local Authorities outside North Yorkshire are also developing their own choice based lettings schemes and we will advertise our properties in those areas through the local scheme.
