Homelessness service
Broadacres' Homelessness Service helps provide a stable
environment in which young people can develop the skills and
confidence to realise their housing ambitions. We believe that
young homeless people should have access to a planned process of
resettlement, which focuses on support, income maximisation,
education, training and employment opportunities leading to
long-term sustainable accommodation, breaking the cycle of
homelessness and poverty.
Broadacres has developed services to target the most vulnerable
of this group - single people who present complex and multiple
needs. Our service utilises a property comprising nine flats and is
staffed seven days a week.
Following a comprehensive assessment an individual support plan
is agreed between service users and a key
worker. Support workers will meet with service
users, by appointment, to assess progress in dealing with the
practical day-to-day issues of maintaining a tenancy thus ensuring
that future housing ambitions, which were identified in their
support plan, are achieved.
Support workers also encourage and assist service users in
day-to-day tasks whilst empowering them to take the necessary
managed risks to develop confidence.
Our team of support workers also work alongside colleagues in
the District Council, the Youth Offending Team and Children
and Family Services along with our own housing services to identify
those in need and to provide a multi-agency approach to the
achievement of positive outcomes.
