Richmond and Hambleton Furniture Store

The Richmond and Hambleton Furniture Store is a charity based in Northallerton aimed at supplying good quality used furniture and some electrical items to people on low incomes and/or benefits. One of our key aims is also to recycle unwanted items by diverting these from landfill.

We operate from Brompton Road (adjacent to Alpha Dental Centre), Northallerton. We are open on Tuesday 9am - 4pm, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9am - 1pm. We are also open on the first and third Saturday of every month 9am - 1pm.

There is a small delivery charge of £5 within Northallerton town and £10 to all other areas within Richmondshire & Hambleton. We do offer a free collection service, however, as the RHFS is a charity we would greatly appreciate a voluntary donation to cover the ever increasing vehicle fuel and running costs. We offer deliveries and collections on the following days, Tuesday and Thursday all day and Wednesday and Friday morning and we cover the Richmondshire and Hambleton areas.

Prices vary according to the item and all the furniture is priced according to the Furniture Re-use Network guidelines.

Donate

Collections are arranged by telephoning 07801 591 581. The furniture must be in clean and saleable condition (i.e. no pet scratches, staining and odour-free); all upholstered furniture must have the current fire labels attached. Due to the limited storage space and as a general rule we can only take items that are less than 10 years old, however, we do take older items depending on condition and storage space at the time of donation. Please note that when donations are collected the recycling operatives have final discretion so we cannot guarantee that all items will be collected. All the electrical items must be in working condition and may be tested before collection (we currently do not accept washing machines, dishwashers, cookers, and small electrical appliances, due to the cost of PAT testing).

At the present time we do not offer house clearances and we do not collect bric-a-brac e.g. plates, cutlery, cooking utensils, curtains, bedding etc; but your local charity shop will accept these items.

Purchase

Deliveries are arranged at the time of sale and you can pay by either cash or debit/credit card. Prices vary according to the condition and type of furniture and any items purchased must be paid for before delivery is arranged.
