Wanting a transfer

If you are already a Broadacres tenant you may find that at some point your circumstances may change and you may want to move to another of our properties

If you want to move to another of our properties in North Yorkshire (apart from Harrogate) you will need to register with North Yorkshire Home Choice.

Once you have registered, you will be able to bid for our properties which we will advertise every week. We will give you some priority for a move if:

  • you are overcrowded and require more bedrooms; or
  • you want to move to a property with fewer bedrooms; or
  • you have a serious and enduring illness that is affected by your housing and you need to move to improve your health or wellbeing; or
  • you need to move to relieve proven hardship such as providing or receiving care; or
  • you need to move on from a supported housing scheme.

We will also give a high priority to those tenants who meet our ‘Good Neighbour’ standard. To qualify:

  • you must not have breached any of your tenancy condition in the past three years, including having a clear rent account; and
  • your home must be in a good state of repair and decoration and suitable for re-letting without additional work; and
  • once you are moving, allow us to show other applicants around your home before you move out.

If you need further advice about North Yorkshire Home Choice, visit the website www.northyorkshirehomechoice.co.uk or contact us.

If you want to move to a property in Harrogate you will need to register on the council’s waiting list. If you live in Harrogate and want to move elsewhere in North Yorkshire you will need to register with North Yorkshire Home Choice.

Outside of North Yorkshire if you want to move in:

  • Darlington you need to register with the Tees Valley choice based lettings scheme at www.compasscbl.org.uk
  • County Durham you need to register with the choice based lettings scheme at www.durhamkeyoptions.co.uk
  • East Riding you need to register with the local council.
