For women and children experiencing domestic abuse.

Our Women’s Refuge provides purpose built self contained apartments for women and children who have experienced, or are experiencing, domestic abuse / violence from someone who lives with them, or used to live with them. The Refuge is available to any woman, married or single, with or without children and provides temporary accommodation to allow decisions to be made about the future, free from fear. The staff at our Refuge are all female. The other tenants at the Refuge may have had similar experiences and can provide support and advice to each other by sharing these experiences.

Male visitors are not usually allowed into the accommodation area of the Refuge (this includes male children over the age of 16 years).

In order to make life as normal as possible for the children we employ 2 trained children’s workers who organise activities and outings for children and also provide supervision for them whilst their mother may be having a support session with a staff member.
